Through our Climb4Community™ program, Boulders has been able to support and contribute to a wide variety of social and environmental initiatives. Read below to learn more about our initiatives and find out how you can get involved.
Climb for a Cause Partnerships
Climb for a Cause is our monthly fundraising initiative for local nonprofits and organizations we believe in. On the first of each month, we offer half-off intro packages, with 100% of the proceeds going to our partner non-profit. For the remainder of the month, we offer free stickers to anyone who comes in with proof of donation to that partner. You may also see occasional bonus fundraisers in the form of mid-month Climb for a Cause days, raffles, events, special merch, or other unique initiatives, so keep an eye out!
February’s Climb for a Cause Partnership:
The Valley of Change is rooted in the principles of justice, inclusivity, and community care. We work to create lasting change in Los Angeles and beyond, fostering collective well-being and equity for all. The Valley of Change is dedicated to empowering Black lives through education, health resources, mutual aid, and advocacy.
Given the work The Valley of Change does in the LA area and the timeliness of the help needed there due to the fires, we are currently offering a $5 discount on all day passes with proof of a donation to this cause (minimum $5). The discount does not scale with larger donations, but please contribute what you can! This promotion will run through the month of February in addition to our usual Climb for Cause promotions including $12 day passes on the first of the month.

1Climb with Boys and Girls Club
1Climb is Kevin Jorgeson’s initiative to introduce 100,000 new kids to climbing. By partnering with local gyms and The Boys and Girls Club, they create sustainable partnerships that leverage local resources to share this sport we all love with kids who might not otherwise have access. Climbers learn to feel comfortable on the wall, a variety of climbing techniques and styles, how to use auto-belays, how to top rope, as well as the joys of being a part of a climbing community. Boulders’ 1Climb walls are set and maintained by our in-house setting team, staffed by our coaching team, and financially supported by our community fund and Climb4community™ members as a means to limit the barriers that exist for young climbers to get started. The program is open to any youth ages 12-18, who just need to be Boys & Girls Club members to get free access to the 1Climb program, which can be done online or over the phone!

MGE Shared Solar
Boulders Gym is taking another step toward greater sustainability, partnering with Madison Gas and Electric (MGE) to power our locations in Madison with solar energy from a new 5-megawatt (MW) solar array at Middleton Municipal Airport, also known as Morey Field. Our 136 shares of local solar will provide enough clean energy to power approximately 25% of its operations and will help offset about 72,002 pounds of carbon dioxide annually. We purchase the remaining energy used at its facilities from MGE’s Green Power Tomorrow program, making our facilities powered by 100% clean energy.

Boulders is a member of the award winning Wisconsin LGBT Chamber of Commerce, an organization of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and LGBT-allied businesses, corporations and professionals throughout the state of Wisconsin focused on being a strong pro-fairness business community.
